Do I need a MIDI keyboard to use Notimo?

No. You can play with the on-screen keyboard or use your microphone (sing the note or play it on an acoustic instrument). A MIDI piano makes the experience better — Notimo detects every keystroke in real time — but it’s 100% optional.

Does Notimo work on iPad, iPhone or Android?

Yes. Notimo runs in any modern browser and adapts to your screen. On iOS 18+ and Android, MIDI keyboards work via USB or Bluetooth. For the best experience on phones, install Notimo as a Progressive Web App (PWA) — it behaves like a native app and even works offline.

Is Notimo really free? What do I get with Pro?

Yes, the Free plan is free forever — 15 lessons, sight-reading game, MIDI support, daily challenges. Pro is €11.99/month or €119.99/year (saves 17%, works out to €9.99/month). It unlocks all 370 lessons, the complete theory course, scales + chords training, your own MusicXML songs and advanced analytics. No credit card needed to start.

Can I import my own sheet music?

Yes (Pro feature). Notimo imports MusicXML files (the standard format exported by MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale, Dorico and others). Just drag and drop — Notimo renders the score and you can practice it with full MIDI tracking.

How is my data protected?

Notimo is fully GDPR-compliant. Servers are in Frankfurt (EU). We don’t use tracking cookies, no third-party ads, no data selling. You can delete your account and all data anytime in Settings. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
